On June 11, 2016 Art Centre Basel’s latest exhibition ‘Picasso: The Artist and his Muses’ opened at the Vancouver Artgallery. We are excited to share some images from the installation, exclusive press preview as well as Members Opening. The exhibition will be on view until October 2, 2016 and invites visitors to learn more about the women in Picasso’s life as well as their influence on his art.
Deputy Director Katharina Beisiegel led more than 30 journalists through an exclusive preview, explaining the idea behind the exhibition, it’s genesis and pointing out the many highlights from 38 international collections. This exhibition, the most significant Picasso exhibition in Western Canada ever, brings together 62 paintings, sculptures and works on paper spanning from 1906 to 1971, covering the most important years of Picasso’s work.
