Watches from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute
The return of the watch collection in 1988 from long-term loan to the Smithsonian Institution marked the beginning of a scholarly effort whose fruits are commemorated with a comprehensive catalogue of the Proctor watch collection and its accompaying exhibition. Jewelry expert Janet Zapata provides an insightful overview of the relationship of watchmaking to the fabrication and ornamentation of jewelry and related small works.
