The Art Centre Basel is pleased to present the accompanying catalogue for our exhibition ‘Masterpieces of Medieval Art‘.
The National Museum in Warsaw houses one of the most precious Medieval Art collections in Europe. This collection comprises gothic altars as well as high caliber sculptures and panel paintings. The selection of works shows the high quality and diversity of Polish art in Breslau, Krakau, Danzig and the region of Silesia and Pommern during that time. The catalogue contains several essays describing local art in the kingdom of Poland and explores this exhibition in a scholarly manner.
